Viola back of European Black Poplar (Populus nigra). Outline shown has lower bout width of 260mm.  Cut Spring of 2017. Specific gravity is around 0.55 g/cc. Radial cut (“quartered”).

Billet Min. Dimensions:

50mm x 10 mm cross section (wedge)

255mm wide x 450mm long.

Note that separate ribs are not included by sufficient material is available to cut matching ribs from thicker side of billet.
